Religious Education in the schools of the Townsville Catholic Diocese comprise two distinct but complementary dimensions; the classroom teaching and learning of Religion (Religion Curriculum P-12), and the religious life of the school (Religious Life of the School P-12).
Teaching religion is an educational activity focused on the teaching and learning of religion while teaching people to be religious is identified with the religious life of the school and is a faith development activity focused on nurturing the religious, spiritual and faith growth of students.
Prayer, liturgies and Christian Meditation are of significant importance in the life of the primary campus of Columba Catholic College. Classroom prayer and Christian Meditation occur on a daily basis with liturgies being celebrated for major feast days and other significant events throughout the year.
Students making the sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and Eucharist do this through a parish based program.
